Our Team

  • KC Malik

KC Malik is an author, essayist, content creator and the mind behind the world of Larkin. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree and working towards a career in English education, while living and working in Buffalo, New York.  A huge fan of cowboys and vampires alike, she channeled her love for the genres of westerns, horror and romance into Larkin to create something she hopes others enjoy playing as much as she enjoyed creating it. Outside of making games of her own she loves playing video games (The Dragon Age series and Fallout: New Vegas hold particular soft spots in her heart), reading, plucking away at her banjo and spending time with her two shih-tzu-poodles.

  • Dan Leigh

Dan Leigh is a UK based traditional artist. He is inspired by a wide variety of sources but most commonly the characteristics and emotional pull of horror, gore, and the body. He is drawn to expressing grief and anger in his work. He also enjoys drawing for his favourite films and characters. His traditional art uses 2mm pencil on paper, and then adds digital colour elements afterwards. He grew up watching westerns with his dad so has always had a soft spot for them too, which has been lucky for this project. His favourite westerns are The Good The Bad and The Ugly, and High Plains Drifter. When he's not drawing he is working on an Mphil degree in Medieval History, playing old video games, listening to music, and watching films. You can find more of his art here!

  • Yasmine

Yasmine is our part-time social media and community wizard. When she's not casting spells (i.e. making drop-dead gorgeous spreadsheets), she's making visual novels, playing retro games, DJ-ing, and reading horror and sci-fi novels.

  • Ari / Nahpolitan

Ari—also known as Nahpolitan to some, or as "just some guy" to most—is one of the manuscript editors for Larkin, hand-picked by KC in early stages of development because of the sole trait they share with every other Capricorn: their love of correcting people. They also enjoy video games, monsters, horror films, romance, making people laugh, and occasionally subjecting themself to the torture of drawing.

  • Phillip S.

Part administrative assistant/part emotional-support team member, Phillip is one half of the pair keeping KC sane throughout Larkin’s development. With an undergraduate degree in Media Studies, he is a crucial member of the Larkin team who helps with everything from basic office organization and administrative tasks to line edits to weighing in on art direction. In his free-time he enjoys expressing his superior pop-music opinions with his friends, hiking and exploring nature and spending time with his two cats Simon and Astro.

  • Sam Malik

Civil-Engineering Major by day, Sam is the other-half of that team keeping KC sane pretty much the rest of the time. Having been around since the inception of Larkin, Sam has played a pivotal role in the development of the game, often acting as a sounding board for new ideas and storylines as well as helping edit here and there. Without her support and eager ear, Larkin would not exist as it does today. When she’s not listening to her sister endlessly rant about Vampires, Sam enjoys playing video games—PowerWash Simiulator happens to be a current favorite—delving into various lores and cuddling with her dogs.
